On-the-Fly Frac Pad Water Treatment Services
On-the-fly frac pad water treatment using EOS FLY units to meter oxidants, inhibitors, and H2S scavengers in real time, keeping KPI-driven water on spec.
Overview
Environmental Oilfield Solutions provides on-the-fly frac water treatment using custom FLY Units operated by EOS crews. Each unit injects oxidants, scale and corrosion inhibitors, and H₂S scavengers in real time to keep pad water on spec.
Integrated metering and testing let us adjust rates on the fly so programs stay within KPI targets while crews stay focused on pumping.
Use Cases
On-the-fly frac pad treatment for single-well or multi-well pads
Real-time dosing of oxidants, inhibitors, and H₂S scavengers at the pad
Programs with strict KPI or inlet water quality requirements
Outcomes
More consistent frac water quality and lower bacteria and H₂S levels
Reduced non-productive time tied to water quality or chemistry issues
Better control of chemical spend through metered, data-driven dosing
Features
OTF Water Treatment combines custom FLY Units with EOS field crews to keep frac water on spec in real time.
-
Custom-built FLY Units that inject multiple chemicals at once, including oxidants, scale and corrosion inhibitors, and H₂S scavengers
-
Integrated metering and testing on the unit so technicians can watch flow, dose, and KPIs while pumping
-
Real-time rate adjustments to match changing water quality, pump rates, and operator KPI targets
-
Suitable for source, produced, and high-reuse water with variable TDS and chemistry
-
Service model that includes equipment, setup, operation, and performance tracking with no equipment markup
-
OTF Water Treatment is used on frac pads that rely on mixed source, produced, and recycled water. Programs are tuned to each operator’s KPIs and verified with on-site testing and usage data.
Keeps bacteria and H₂S within target ranges across long frac campaigns
Supports more stable friction reducer and chemical performance by controlling water quality at the pad
Reduces non-productive time caused by foaming, scaling, sour water, or chemistry upsets
-
Deployment scenarios
Set on the frac pad between storage (ponds or tanks) and the blender
Used at central reuse facilities feeding multiple pads with blended water
Paired with pond treatment when storage quality is variable or sour
Typical users:Completions and frac engineers
Water managers and midstream water providers
Operations and HSE leads responsible for water quality and KPIs

Form and Delivery
Service delivered with EOS-owned FLY Units and field crews
Units include metering pumps, flow measurement, and sampling points
EOS sets up equipment on location and connects to site piping
EOS calibrates injection rates and manages chemical feeds from totes or bulk tanks
IntegrationFLY Units tie into existing transfer lines and manifolds via standard injection points
Can be placed on the frac pad or at a central reuse facility
Compatible with pond treatment, filtration, and broader reuse systems
KPI and usage data can be shared with the operator for reporting, optimization, and cost control

Environmental Oilfield Solutions performs on-the-fly water treatment in alignment with operator safety programs, chemical SDS guidance, and all applicable regulations. Site-specific procedures always take priority.
Handling & PPEFollow operator PPE requirements for chemical handling (typically chemical-resistant gloves, safety glasses or face shield, long sleeves, and appropriate footwear).
Keep clear of pressurized lines, chemical injection points, and moving equipment during operation and maintenance.
Use proper lifting and hose-handling techniques when positioning chemical totes, lines, and injection skids.
Immediately report and respond to leaks, spills, or equipment damage according to site spill-response procedures.
Regulatory notesAll chemicals are used in accordance with their manufacturer SDS and operator-approved programs.
EOS technicians comply with site-specific permits, contractor orientations, and environmental reporting requirements.
Waste streams (empty totes, hoses, filters, and residual fluids) are handled and disposed of under the operator’s approved waste-management plan.
